Marvel and the Funhouse Universe

There is nothing quite like wandering around a gallery to whet the appetite. Lingering in front of a rubenesque scene, catching the reflection of one’s date in the glossy surface, indulging in light flirtation around the meaning of an abstract piece of art, for which there is no wrong answer.  For me, a slow stroll through an exhibition is a perfect prelude to sex. It doesn’t have to be the grand masters, it can be the new masters:  the Marvel exhibition at Tākina, the new convention centre in Wellington opposite Te Papa, runs until the 28th of April. I’ve heard the exhibition described as a psychedelic playground, filled with original props, art and artefacts which really bring Marvel to life.

The intricate detail of the Black Panther costumes is apparently even better in the flesh, but then I’ve always been partial to extending fantasy beyond the screen (and pages) and into this earthly dimension. Roleplay is about connection, imagination and play, and does not have to be taken literally. For example, an Ironman / Pepper Potts roleplay would be fun, but also hot would be finding your cute neighbour in your room with your graphic novel stash…

A gallery trip is a way of opening up the mind to curiosity and pleasure purely for its own sake. In this respect it is not so different from an hour or two with a beautiful, intelligent woman, which is also one of my favourite ways to spend an afternoon. Quite simply it is good for the soul. Combine the two – not necessarily concurrently – and the joy is ramped up exponentially. A solo visit to an exhibition also works as an amuse-bouche.  One of the best things about a Girlfriend Experience booking is curling up in the afterglow and whispering sweet nothings about obscure and specific pieces of knowledge, perhaps exchanging fan theories or discovering a whole new genre of film or music to love. All this to say that Funhouse is an exceptional choice for an authentic, mind melting exchange of physical touch, but are we really a brothel? Or are we a portal into another universe –  I mean, have you seen the decor? (Have you seen any windows?)

Ps. I’ll tell you my favourite characters if you tell me yours.

Pps. OK, me first?  Black Widow and Gamora, of course.
